ADULT: Wingspan up to 17mm. Also known as the 'Yarrow Conch' this delightful little micro-moth is best identified by the narrow and elongate forewings and the  median fascia that is more oblique from the dorsum. The forewings are whitish with an ocherous suffusion. The pre-tornal spots are well-developed. BEHAVIOUR:  Usually seen in small numbers when disturbed from vegetation.  HABITAT: Found around rough open ground, shingle beaches, chalk downland, scrub, open woodland, heathland and waste ground. FLIGHT PERIOD: May to August. STATUS: A local species found throughout Scotland, England and Wales.
